Sony Tablet S price cuts in the US, not Australia

Australia is a lucky country, but one of the most expensive countries to live in, just ask any American.  Sony’s failure to reflect price cuts in the US for the Sony Tablet S here is just another example of how Australians seem to continue receiving the raw end of the deal when it comes to buying consumer goods.

The Sony Tablet S 16GB model sells in the US for around $380AUD whilst we in Australia are paying $579 from the Sony AU website.  When are companies like Sony and Apple going to learn that Aussies are smart and won’t hesistate purchasing products online overeas for the discounts we deserve?

Apple iTunes store continues to offer Aussies inflated pricing for music, CDs and movie rentals, whilst Americans purchase the exact same products at heavily discounted prices.  Many Aussies buy iTunes US gift cards online these days and purchase their iTunes music from the US website to avoid the excessive AU pricing.
